Virgin Bingo have taken to the small screen for the first time with a cartoon style advert that features a singing jalapeno pepper. The pepper, named Ricardo, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Virgin guru Sir Richard Branson, hopes to attract the ladies to Virgin Bingo with the offer of free bingo.
The advert from Virgin Bingo is fairly good and when their website design takes up the Mexican theme from the advert then that'll help tie things up quite nicely. Ricardo is fun and Virgin Bingo have been clever by going for a Branson lookalike. Could Ricardo the Jalapeno become as big a bingo character as Foxy? Possibly not, but a bingo site needs a focal point and Virgin may just have found one.
Our only criticism of the advert is that the tune isn't overly addictive, although it does convey that message of free bingo very well. Free bingo runs for 3 hours daily until the 2nd November 2009.
