ITV are hoping to make it big in bingo with the launch of their brand new Bingo Night Live show. It's dubbed a brand-new TV experience, where you can play along with us from the comfort of your own home - and the good news is that it's absolutely free to play. All you have to do is head over to Bingo Night Live and register your details. You then have access to your free bingo cards. There are three free games a night and ITV will even mark your bingo cards off for you. If you win - they'll email you details of the prize too! How great is that... free bingo on the TV whilst you play bingo online.
The show is presented Tuesday to Saturday nights after midnight and features Melinda Messenger, Michael Underwood and Nichola Dixon.
So what's the catch? It's probably a data collection exercise by ITV and with a lot of people probably quite willing to play free bingo and be given free money without having to claim it... this could prove to be very very popular. Expect to see promotion of ITV's Casino site and Emmerdale Bingo too.
One final point to make is this - in the 80s the tabloids used to run free bingo games - but few people actually won the big prizes. The big question is are ITV replicating the bingo tabloid boom, which soon faded away, or are they about to embark on something massive in the bingo world?
