This month sees the launch of a brand new UK site for one of the biggest names in bingo and also the closure of one of the bingo room of one of internet's biggest brands. They're both on the St Minver bingo platform and so it's hello to Interbingo and goodbye to lastminute.com Bingo! Interbingo was a big brand over the pond. They'd been only for 10 years as a gaming site, but suffered when the Federal Unlawful Gambling Enforcement Act was passed on September 30th 2006. The good news is that the brand is now back in bingo and they're in the UK.
The bad news is that it's another "St Minver" white label site - so a clone of Cheggers, Butlins, Chit Chat, Castle etc etc! Hopefully Interbingo will use this though as a springboard to develop their site and introduce exclusive bingo offers and promotions.
Exclusive offers though were rarely found at Lastminute Bingo, and news reaches us that they are now closing - at least on the St Minver system. It's unclear whether they will launch a new bingo site but where does leave you as a bingo player? If you've played at Lastminute Bingo then you will be offered alternative St Minver sites to visit.
The bad news for bingo players is that we expect more bingo sites to chop/change platforms or even close in the future. One of the UK's biggest bingo brands are about to change their platform - a move which could seriously backfire on them if their players, who love their games, suddenly find themselves offered a different service altogether.
